NWP Episode 280: Body Image is Brain Work, Not Body Work
Body image is brain work, not body work. And what this means to you is if you have really negative and self deprecating thoughts about your body, trying to change your body won’t make them go away.
Instead, doing the brain work will help you learn how to make peace with your here and now body, respect your body and have compassion for it, too.
In this episode you’ll learn how to deal with negative thoughts and the 5 step process to changing body image beliefs. Plus, you’ll learn how body image thoughts aren’t always objective fact and what to expect when it comes to that mean girl inside your head that tells you your body is never enough.
Are you a momma, momma to be or someone who’s passionate about changing the next generation’s body image for the better? I’m hosting the Momma Body Love Workshop on Thursday, August 5th to teach you how to navigate postpartum body image, how to better your own body image to model it to your children and how to set your children up for success when it comes to their relationship with their bodies. Tickets will be available starting this week and you can follow along at @nourishingmindsnutrition and @victoriamyers_ for more information.
The Summer Reset is a free mini-course created for you to help you realize this fact: you’re already summer body ready. And what this means to you is, instead of constantly trying to change your body every year summer rolls around, you can choose to reset how you view your body. So you can feel comfortable and gain confidence in the body you have right here, right now. The Summer Reset will help you reset your mindset towards food, fitness and body this summer so you can stop waiting and start LIVING NOW.
