Episode 129: How to Cook and Meal Plan with Ease with Sara Forte of Sprouted Kitchen
Sara Forte is a two-time cookbook author, award-winning food blogger at Sprouted Kitchen, co-creator of the Sprouted Kitchen Cooking Club, mom of two, and equal opportunity salad and brownie enthusiast living in Southern California. Sara’s food blog, Sprouted Kitchen, launched over a decade ago and has been an adventure Sara pursued with her wildly talented husband, Hugh, who is responsible for all of their food photography.
Sara has worked at a grocery store, two farms, and has spent the last decade creating recipes for her blog, two cookbooks, and her weekly meal planning program, Sprouted Kitchen Cooking Club. Her intention is to make healthy-ish food that fits into that fits into the everyday life of families. She doesn’t subscribe to particular diets, or label foods as "good" or "bad." Her food philosophy is to try to eat mostly vegetables and listen to your body outside of that.
Sara is authentically interested in the entire concept of wellness, including mental health, relationships, mindfulness, movement and eating well. To Sara, caring for ourselves and others with nourishing foods is a big piece of that “wellness” puzzle. She cooks for pleasure, to slow her mind down, and to foster relationships by gathering those she loves around the table.
Knowing how food connects us, Sara and Hugh recently founded Sprouted Kitchen Cooking Club - a weekly meal planning subscription, that helps home cooks get dinner on the table by organizing their time at the market and in the kitchen, and offering recipes to prepare a handful of healthy-ish meals during the week.

Beekeepers Natural is a wellness company that makes innovative products made from healing hive compounds, but they are also on a mission to save the bees! My personal favorite product is the propolis throat spray, made from the immune system of the hive it has incredible germ fighting properties and is something I always have on hand when traveling and when I feel the need for extra immune support. And I also love B. Powered which combines all the superfoods of the hive of propolis, royal jelly, energizing bee pollen, and—of course— honey, I’ve been putting this in my afternoon tea for an energy boost. And the superfood cacao honey, made with Ecuadorian cacao and sustainably sourced honey is so delicious drizzled on yogurt, smoothies and on my toast too!
